Hi there, I’m so glad you’re here!
My name is Emily James, but everyone calls me EmJ (pronounced /m’j/). I am based in the beautiful Boulder area where I can often be found in the mountains with my pup, Baxter, at a local climbing gym or coffee shop, or spending time with friends and family.
During my 13+ year career I’ve utilized design thinking strategies—user empathizing and researching, iterating and prototyping, and user testing—to determine and implement design solutions for product builds of SaaS platforms, web and graphic materials for editorial, apparel, small business and non-profit organizations. With my expert visual experience and problem-solving mindset I aim to build products and services that spark delight through identifying and designing features and experiences that aim to solve and ease user needs.
In recent months, I’ve begun to implementing AI tools—Claudie, MidJourney, and UX Piliot—to help further product development strategies from performing research and helping build personas to developing wireframes and low-fi prototype concepts. Additionally, I’m beginning to expand my international skills and mindsets by helping to expand and adapt a US based agricultural finance platform for UK finance services.
I look forward to an opportunity to connect and chat about how my skills and experiences can contribute to helping your team build user-centric products and experiences.
